What were you doing 19 years ago today?

Think back for a second.  19 years ago.  What were you up to that day?

I’ll give you a clue to help you remember: it was a Saturday.

A Saturday like no other, at least to me.  For I was standing at the front of a church, watching my bride walk down the aisle, smiling and crying all at once.  And we were joined in holy matrimony, for better or worse.  And then we went to the Holiday Inn and had cake and margaritas and listened to an Irish band.

And when we walked out that night, we were man and wife, and we still are.  For better, for worse, for richer and for poorer.  In sickness and in health.  And two shall be as one.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!

In Answer to your question, 19 years ago on a Saturday I was probably watching cartoons.

    I was 7.

Make you feel any older LOL?

  2. Congrats! Happy Anniversary!

Now let’s See… Nineteen years ago, May 23rd, 1987… I was probably doing… umm… definitely nothing noteworthy apparently.

  3. Happy Anniversary!

And I was 9 years old. So whatever 9 year olds did before the internet and gameboy and… hehe

  4. Congratulations for making it through thick and thin (~eeeerr situations!) You two are a real inspiration!

19 years ago – I was celebrating my 3 weeks of no college before the 1st summer session began – because “SOMEONE” had too much fun the semester before and was on academic probations. Shhh – don’t tell anyone, I said I was doing summer school so I could “get ahead” on my studies 😉

  5. I was about 8 days from graduating from high school, and about three months from even meeting my husband.

congrats. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, I’m sure you can attest to that. May the next 19 be even more wonderful for you both!

  6. Congrats on making it through the first 19 years!

19 years ago this month I was sporting a not so great haircut and finishing 6th grade at Oakwood. There was much excitement about going to the Jr. High across the street the next year. Of course, they’ve since torn the old Jr. High bldg(s) down b/c of asbestos.

  7. Oops – my math skills aren’t so good tonight. My earlier comment was 20 years ago this month. So, 19 years ago, I was finishing 7th grade at the asbestos infested Jr. High across the street.

  8. Congratulations! I know that y’all have been working hard at this. You deserve a very HAPPY anniversary, Ben!

  9. Awww Congratulations… Happy Anniversary!!!..

What was I doing?? I was 13 years old… so I was probably watching cartoons, lol.

  10. Wow! 19 years – that’s fantastic! Congratulations to you both, I hope you had a wonderful anniversary.

19 years ago I was 16 and if it was a Saturday then I was sleeping until noon, going shopping and then out partying that night 😉
