Think fast!

Okay, quick:

What were you doing 25 years ago today?

Hmm?

Some of you (maybe a couple) were pretty young. If you’re my age you were finishing high school, give or take a year.

Wanna know what I was doing?

25 years ago today, I was stressing out, because I had a date. A blind date. With the woman who, just this morning, said “Holy crap, it’s been 25 years!”

Early on, when I was still a hippie freak, it was a pretty big deal to make it a month. So we got in the habit of celebrating “the 18th.” As the weeks and months turned into years (we were engaged long before the first April 18th came around, btw) we kept celebrating, because the 18th, again to steal my wife’s words, is when it all started.

It’s been awesome. I won’t lie, it’s also been a little scary at times, and I’m certain she has questioned her sanity on ever saying ‘yes’ to me more than a few times. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I love you, honey.

  1. dang, I can’t remember 25 minutes ago, much less 25 years. Let’s see, i think I was with Stacy in junior high. Sorry to make you feel old.

congrats on a quarter-century with your better half!
