We go back to school on Monday.

Everybody.

My wife teaches – her classes start on Monday. I work at a school, the kids there go back on Monday. My boys start (1st and 4th grade) on Monday.

And, guess what?

I usually don’t like Mondays.

Isn’t that a song?

In other news, I’ve run 6.2 miles this week, and will run five on Friday and hopefully six or better on Sunday, trying to get back to my routine of at least 4x a week running. And laying off the freakin’ donuts.

In other news, Lego Star Wars has reached pandemic proportions in our house, to the point that the kids are begging for another freakin’ playstation so they can both play, but not have to play “two player” mode, since that somehow taints the experience. (“no, go LEFT!”)

And our favorite city swimming pool is closed; they will be open this weekend and next, but that’s it until around Memorial day. Because when school goes back, the lifeguards all have to work their greek functions (what rhymes with “keg?”), or, I suppose, go back to school. Whichever.

And thanks for all of you who wrote with concern about Erin / Dean / whatever tropical system might come our way. We are nearly 200 miles inland, so the only thing we’d get would be some bad thunderstorms, and we don’t need a tropical system for those. Our house is not in a flood zone, but there’s a tree outside I wouldn’t mind losing, as long as it only falls on innocent people driving past instead of on my house.

Excuse me while I go change the license plates on my car. No, nothing clandestine, just every so many years the state insists you get new license plates, in case you accidentally learned the last number. This drives the guys at the auto shop nuts, because of course that’s how they keep track of your car. Heh. Don’t you wish your life was exciting like mine?
