Yes, we’re into Day Three of what might be a Four Day Weekend. Ice Storm Cometh.

I’m on my last beer, but luckily I have wine as backup. And if things get really ugly, I’ll break into the Maker’s Mark. We also have other essentials, like a jumbo jug of Poppycock (“My, what a big poppycock you have!”) and peanut butter.

The kids are tolerating this well, considering they haven’t really been outdoors since Friday. Friday morning I was sweating so bad on my run I had to take off my shirt (and it’s a wicking shirt, so there) and now it’s thirty degrees and has rained off and on for three days.

I’m thinking we’ll watch a movie this afternoon, my nine year old is lobbying hard for “Snakes on a Plane,” but there are some things I don’t really want him saying to his teacher when they get back to school. “Get this mother-fucking spelling test off my mother-fucking desk!” Yes, I’m raising a bunch of academic All Americans.

I’ve been given a quest, just now, to make butter crumb topping for an apple pie that my wife is creating. Should be ready in a couple hours, drop by!
