Hi, y’all! I’m still here. Sore from painting and lifting and scooting and all that. Today we put our bedroom back together – at the moment there is quite literally only a bed and an alarm clock in the room. No drapes (woot! Neighbors got a show they didn’t really need), no nightstand, no TV (gasp!), nothing. So the first order of business is to run the carpet steamer (any house with two dogs, two cats, and three kids under ten really needs one of these), then we’ll run some errands while the carpet dries, and then move some stuff around. Again.
We had dinner out last night, overpriced italian stuff but hey, we didn’t have to cook or clean up.
I ran five miles this morning as the sun rose, it’s nice here (low 40’s) and it was a nice way to finish my running for the year. 250 miles for the year, not bad for an old fat guy.
Finally, here are the new words from Unconscious Mutterings:
- Resolution :: something I can’t make
- Happy :: happy, country country
- Bubbly :: my daughter first thing in the morning
- Kiss :: wants to rock and roll all night (and party every day)
- Leather :: and lace
- Fancy :: pants
- Pages :: get together in mobs and form books
- Stupid :: politicians can get my blood pressure waaaaay up but I’m not going to let them today because it’s a beautiful day and my beautiful kids aren’t trying to kill each other (at the moment) and life is moving on.
- Apologize :: what I should do for my lame blog, but deal with it, the price is right
- Secrets :: my son says he won’t tell me his, because then they won’t be secret anymore. But I’m sure he’ll crack.
Y’all have a fantastic New Years Eve.
So much work for a WEEKEND! We bought a steam cleaner back when we had almost-white Berber carpet in Every. Stinking. Room (besides the kitchen) – the previous owners obviously did NOT have three kids under 9. It’s saved our current carpet (bedrooms only, thankyouverymuch).
Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve!

Happy New Year!
