Happy Birthday, War!

You’ll always be older than my daughter, who is gearing up to start
Kindergarten. Are you starting Kindergarten, too?

It seems like only yesterday we were all getting mysty-eyed at your
first “Mission Accomplished.” Later you had a Surge and we thought –
wow, they sure do grow up fast.

So, can they keep the lights on in Baghdad 24/7 yet? I sure hope so.
Aren’t you glad they got rid of that pesky “people not blowing each
other up at random” shit that Saddam had going for you?
