post lunch rambling post

I’ve started three or four times to write a post today, but couldn’t come up with anything. I mean, nothing worth actually hitting “publish.”

I could rant (oh, my, could I rant) about a hundred different things in the news. But lets not go there, shall we? I could tell you how cute the kids were at soccer practice last night, but I need to save that one (it’s going to be a long season).

I thought about complaining about my weight, since I weight the same as I did at New Years, which is almost 10 pounds more than I did fourteen months ago. (but, ahem)

So, there, I’ve complained. Moving on.

Then I was at lunch, and was reminded of a post I read this morning at The Happiness Project (you really ought to add that one to your RSS feed, good stuff). This post concerns 10 things you can do to create energy for yourself, right now:

4. Listen to your favorite upbeat song. Hearing stimulating music gives an instant lift. I’m always surprised by the effectiveness of this strategy.

And sure enough, I’m out running errands and a Rodney Crowell tune comes on, and before I know it I’m singing along and banging on the steering wheel and just having a good ol’ time.

Come on and say you love me say you need me
say you want me don’t disappoint me
Say it say it say it say it

Speak your mind darlin’ state your case baby
Lay it on the line sugar cut to the chase maybe

Say it in your own words don’t be proud
If it’s something that you want to get heard
You’ve got to say it to me right out loud

Say it say it say it say it
