Ok, this little thing looks like it’ll rock. As a guy who is constantly being bugged for “new pictures” of the kids (like the four year old pictures of kids I don’t even have anymore aren’t enough, harumph), this looks like just the ticket:![]()
Why am I a tease? Because I don’t know who is making it, when it will be available, or how much it will cost, or what kind of batteries it takes.
I do know this:
The Digital Photo Display’s high-resolution LCD screen stores up to 100 photos that can be viewed individually, as thumbnails or in a vibrant slideshow complemented by the frame’s sleek design.
More news when I get it…
Update:
7†Digital Photo Display ($199)
Philips Electronics has artfully provided the answer to the question posed by the dominance of digital cameras. How can consumers free digital memories from their computer, where precious moments are stored but rarely seen, and share them with family and friends? Philips’ Digital Photo Displays are a piece of art themselves, with sophisticated designs to accommodate any décor. The Digital Photo Display’s captivating high-resolution LCD screen stores up to 100 photos (depending on file size) that can be viewed individually, as thumbnails or in a vibrant slideshow complemented by the frame’s sleek design. When choosing the slideshow mode, consumers can effectively combine 100 photos into one exciting presentation. Available in September it will have a suggested retail price of $199
only 100?? it’d be tough for me to pick just 100. But, that would reduce the clutter of frames on my desk, that’s for sure.
This is not something new… well THAT particular model is new (and admittedly very sleek looking), but there are plenty of “Digital Photo Frames” out already. Most will take a SD (or similar) memory card so that you are not “limited” to 100 pictures.
Yeah, I don’t have one, I just thought this model looked pretty slick. Don’t know why it’s limited to 100 pics, and I wish I knew the size. Maybe it’s really small?
I’m one of those people that downloads pics from the camera to my hard drive and then nukes the pics on the camera; I only have one memory card. But that’s pretty easy to fix, too, I suppose. And as insurance I burn a DVD every so often of all the pics on my computer (speaking of over 100 pics)
