Good news!
I engaged my brain last night and used google and found a step by step tutorial for configuring a home network between my machines. That’s good.
Then my son walked in and gave me a “home dollar,” which is a dollar we give out sometimes when they do something really cool, but it’s not a real dollar, just one you can trade for things. He wanted me to come lay down in their room when they went to bed.
So, the boys and I crashed at 8:30. And I didn’t configure my network last night.
In other news, I’d love to know what y’all use for digital photo management. Do you use whatever came with the camera? Did you buy a program? Did you write your own? Does it matter? I’ve got a zillion and two digital photos, and it would be nice to start making sense of them. Like tribbles, soon I will have two zillion, then four, and so on.
Dell sent a nifty program along with our photo printer to help print them, so I think I’ve got that mostly covered. I have Gimp (but don’t really know how to use it well). I can’t afford full-blown photoshop at this juncture. I’d love an easy program to re-size or crop photos to send them off to buzznet or e-mail them to friends (our Sony will create 5 mb files for each photo, and I know not everyone has broadband), and I’d love to create some kinda galleries on-line, and maybe print some pages for home use and to send to friends that don’t live online like some of us.
Thanks…
