My son’s soccer coach just sent out an announcement about the upcoming season. Whatcha think of this guy?

I will tell you that I believe in classic sports as a way of growing as individuals. Soccer, in particular, has another quality: Anybody can play it well and have fun, regardless of physical gifts or disadvantages and socioeconomic status.

During the summer a bunch of grad students and professors play just for fun in Sandstone Park. I was impressed How British, Iraqis, Italians, Brazilians, Koreans, Texans and New Yorkers will be united by a ball and leave their differences a side. We live in a small world and soccer is a good excuse to make friends and become more tolerant with others.

My goal is that our children improve in perseverance by working hard; become patience, standing by others as a team; learn how to socialize and be happy no matter the score.
