Self help

For various reasons, I was feeling rather low the last day or two.  My energy was gone, I was feeling very negative, I was dwelling on some things that I know better than to worry about.  Just a crappy time – I’ve been there before, I’ll be there again.

This morning I slept in a little bit (past 7 AM, it was awesome).  I cooked myself a semi-healthy breakfast (scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla, slipped a little on the pepper but that’s OK).  I went to two soccer games – my kids rocked it.  In the afternoon, I spent a couple hours volunteering for a half-marathon that will happen in the morning; it was the packet pick up.  This event benefits a local charity that I support and the other volunteers were really nice, it was good to be there.

I came home and decided to run a couple of miles (tomorrow I’m helping at the registration table and will not be running, I wasn’t planning to because I really can’t spend the money right now).  So I’m feeling happy with my day, feeling like a productive person again.  That’s a good thing.

I’m watching Sons of Guns which I think is really stupid but for some reason I can’t turn it off until I see them use the grenade launcher they are rebuilding (you know it will work, they just have to yell at each other for no reason first).  Early bedtime tonight since I have to be out the door at 5 something tomorrow morning 😛  Afterward I’m gonna hit the grocery store so I’m ready for the new week.

Is it any wonder I’m not crazy?

I know better than to ask that kind of question, especially since sometimes I’m not so sure that I’m not crazy.

I heard this song on the radio yesterday and it’s been stuck in my head so I thought I would put it in a post. Heh.

Today I’ve had a little too much time, work is slow and quiet today, which is never good for my frame of mind. I’m thinking about friends around the country where severe weather is threatening (btw it’s 80 something and sunny here), thinking about family. Thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.

For the weekend: plans are to catch up on my Netflix movies, watch a couple of kick-ass soccer games, clean my apartment, and maybe make a batch of brownies or find some new recipe to try.

This is almost too much excitement for one blog post, but I know y’all are professionals and can handle it.
