Random is as random does

Okay. New week. New stuff.

Following up on my earlier post about getting kids to play outside (as nature intended) which has had, oh let me see, no feedback, here’s what Calvin had to say about it.

I took my blood pressure at the grocery store yesterday (as two of my kids said things like “what does this do?” at the pharmacy counter) and it was OK. Not great, but not too high.

We had a freeze last night. It was over eighty many days last week. I give up predicting the weather.

I ran 19 miles last week.

I’m still a lard ass.

Free the pee!

Speaking of playing outside (I was), we saw Bridge to Terabithia. I knew all about the spoiler (won’t say it here) but that didn’t stop me from blubbering like an idiot for the last half hour. My kids were touched, as well: “Dad, don’t hog the popcorn.”

  1. I started crying BEFORE it happened. My daughter acted like I was possessed. If I don’t embarrass my children daily, I haven’t done my job as a parent.

  2. I totally ruined it for my husband when I blurted out the “spoiler” while watching a commercial trailer, doh! I thought everyone read that book as a child. Course I’m the daughter of a librarian so my world view is a bit skewed.
