around the House

I’m on the fence on whether I want to see Monster House.

On the one hand, it looks kinda fun, and this Spielberg guy usually does a fair job making a movie. On the other hand, watching the preview (which is about all I know about it), it just doesn’t strike me as that great of an idea.

Are y’all going to see it (particularly if you plan to take kids, but I genuinely care about what everyone thinks)

  1. I have heard that it is a fantastic movie and I would love to see it. But, alas, my kids are too small. The review I saw said 10 years old may still be too young…

  2. My children are inured to all violence because I let them watch too much TV and beat them regularly, so I’m thinking we’ll go check it out. The reviews are good.

  3. I think it sounds like a good pic for the family & you can let the kids know you’ll move to that house, if they don’t behave.Of course, my kids know my sarcastic ways & because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, will say in return, “Oh Goodie! Bring it on, Momma!” 😀

  4. We saw the trailer last night, after our daughter had gone to bed. I turned to my husband and said, “Do you think it’s wrong to want to take Big Girl to see this?” He thought one of us should see it first, probably Saturday, and if it’s okay we’ll take her Sunday. We’ll see.

Even though she’s not allowed to see a lot of violent stuff, there are some things that are probably too old for her that she loves – The Nightmare Before Xmas, Madagascar, things like that. It all depends on how it’s presented.
