We’re hundreds of miles from the storm.
We are 110 miles from Houston.
There are people camping in the Kroger parking lot, clearly exhausted from driving up from the coast. I don’t know if they intend to go back on the road, or if they are thinking they are “far enough” (whatever that is) and are just waiting out the storm to go home.
I saw a tanker truck visiting gas stations this morning, at least three now have some fuel. Lines of cars at each. $2.95 for regular unleaded. But if you play your cards right you can get a free car wash.
We’re seeing those thin clouds that look like way way way outer bands from the storm. My next task is to mow the lawn, well, after I jump start the van – somebody left a light on overnight. Oops.
Prepared, we are.
