Well, I don’t really care to shop very often. Sometimes I’m in the mood, and it just clicks. For example, my wife and I bought a couch yesterday in a little over an hour, and most of that time was waiting while the furniture guy typed stuff into his computer. And yes we shopped online, at two local stores, and sat on dozens of couches. We can be speedy when we’re motivated. (We had somebody watching the kids, so the faster we bought the couch, the more “grown up time” we could share. And boy, we shared a bunch)
Anyway.
One thing I do is look at stuff online. And have I got some deals for you! Yessirree bob.
Let’s see what we have in the bag, shall we?
First of all, Mir now has shirts and coffee mugs and (soon, I hope) thongs on sale at her cafe press site. You all know Mir, or you should, she’s written here before and I count her as a true blessing in my life. And seriously, write to her and say that you would love a Woulda Shoulda thong, perhaps one with “Haven’t been hit by lightning yet!” written on it, or my favorite – ‘It’s not a regret, it’s an experience.’ (and for the record the thongs were MY idea, Mir just wants shirts and coffee mugs, but at least she laughed when I suggested thongs are the wave of the future)
Next up, cuz this is a good cause that I will always support (with both hands, if necessary):

Boobiethon 2005!
I haven’t heard back from them on my offer to volunteer my skillz (perhaps they already know too much about me) but I’ll let y’all know if I’m helping out this year. Still a good cause and coming up in a couple weeks it all starts out, it doesn’t hurt to start plugging these guys. Know also that they are collecting for hurricane Katrina relief as well.
Speaking of the hurricane, Tony Comstock is having a day to collect and donate proceeds. I’ll let him tell you about it (from an e-mail I received last week)
Comstock Films is setting aside Wednesday, September 14th as our day to respond to this tragedy. On that day we will donate the purchase price of all DVD orders and pre-orders made from the ComstockFilms.com Web site to the American Red Cross. When Mrs. C started looking for the most transparent way to make this donation, she discovered our ISP is offering dollar for dollar matching of any donations, so we’ll be using their “portal” to maximize the amount donated.
What that means is for every copy of Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story and Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract sold on that day ($24.95), nearly $50 will go to the Red Cross. For every DVD pre-order, nearly $26 will go to assist the people of the Gulf Coast in this terrible time. (Please note: Pre-orders made on September 14th are non-refundable.)
Now I know what you’re thinking. “uh, dude, those are adult films there. Porn, even!”
Well, of course you’re right, but if you ask me this is the good kind of porn. Marie and Jack, for example, is a film about a married couple who happen to be porn stars. They talk about their relationship, about sex, about work. They also, um, seem rather fond of each other. So if you are at all inclined to watch this sort of thing, these are fantastically wonderful (and I’m not the only one that feels that way). Much, much better than the typical fake/plastic/viagra/gymnastics type porn that is 99% of it out there.
That’s probably enough for now, more in a bit…
