Whenever you’re ready…

One of the unusual things about adoption is that sometimes developmental milestones don’t happen when you think they will.

For example: my daughter is usually fine with one (or both) of us leaving the house. She’s been this way for, oh, the last sixteen months or so (she just turned two a couple months back)

Tonite? My wife went to run an errand, and my girl has sat in my lap and bawled her eyes out for the last twenty five minutes, repeating “mommy… mommy… mommy…”

Now I’m almost ready to say “mommy…”
