One of my favorite bands is Little Feat. Strangely, I’ve always counted on the radio to hear their music. I’ve got to change that and buy some of it.
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I’m drunk and dirty don’t ya know, and I’m still, oh I’m still
Out on the road late at night, I seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice, Dallas AliceI’ve been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that’s ever been made
Now I driven the back roads so I wouldn’t get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and you show me a sign
I’ll be willin’, to be movin’
And who could forget
Well we made all the hot spots. My money flowed like wine
Then that low down Southern whiskey began to fog my mind
And I don’t remember church bells or the money I put down
On the white picket fence and boardwalk of the house at the edge of town
But boy do I remember the strain of her refrain
The nights we spent together, and the way she called my nameIf you’ll be my dixie chicken, I’ll be your Tennessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland
And you just can’t beat this:
Two degrees in be-bop, a PHD in swing
He’s the master of rhythm he’s a rock and roll king
yeah, I need to get me some o’ dat.
