Have you ever had an idea? Perhaps what you think of as a good idea (maybe not a great idea, but one worth at least pursuing)

And then, you tell your idea to someone else, and they scoff, and make fun of it?

But then you think it’s a good enough idea that you try and learn a bit more about it, and then the other person sees what you’re doing and ridicules it, louder this time?

yeah, me neither.

Exxon, who made $10 billion in profit this year (that’s with a ‘B’ in case you missed it), thinks it shouldn’t have to pay the $5 billion in damages from when their drunk tanker captain ruined half of Valdez.

(anyone who tells you Valdez has been “cleaned up” has no idea. That ecosystem will never be the same, and the people that depended on it have long ago had to change their lives)

Why do oil companies like playing God? Oh, yeah, it’s because we (the people) let them.
