I dreamed I was blogging last night

Yes, my life is so dull, that I dreamed I was writing a blog entry last night. But not really, in my dream I wasn’t at my computer, but I was planning my blog entry. And it was going to be great! It was going to be profound yet teasing at the same time, promising a better entry when I actually had time to write it (because Dream Me was just so busy, you know). And the dream was apparently triggered by a visitor from Yonkers, since you were in there (*waves*).

But alas, it was just a dream, and maybe I’ll tell about it sometime.

Meantime? Go here, and read an awesomely fantastic piece of writing, such that it makes mine look even more drivel-ish than usual.

You got your random in my peanut butter!

I’ve never been accused of being terribly organized. This is just more of the same.

No swimming yesterday, so no more funny quips from my kids at the pool. Perhaps tonite.

I could rant for days on political crap, but I won’t – I’ll just say it’s more of the same old shit happening everywhere. The Iraqi’s seem to have taken a page from the Western White House and are taking the month of August off; the Democrats can’t decide what they are going to do about much of anything, the ‘publicans are still basically saying “because I said so” any time they are asked why they have done anything. You can now carry a zippo lighter on airplanes, because that is so much safer than the Water Babies sunscreen the goons tossed out of my luggage last time I flew (is it any wonder I hate to fly?) Etc. etc.

My buddy Erin is having a problem deciding what to do about her floor. Funny, this entry really caught my attention. (This is not the Erin that comments here, btw.)

Researchers (here in Texas, where else?) have come up with a list of 237 reasons we screw each other. I think they weren’t really trying.

Tillman was shot at close range. In the head. Three times. With an American weapon. Remember the headlines? No, no cover up here.

Shit, I said I wouldn’t get all political, and I’ve done did it.

better than yesterday

I was running this morning and started wondering if it was always this tough to run in the summer for me. So I looked up my log; here was my longest run of the same week last year (the week 7 bit refers to the Couch to 5K plan from Cool Running):

Week 7 Day 3
5 minute warmup
25 minute run (2.13 miles measured)
walk home (almost 20 minutes)

HUMID.

So, I guess that answers that. I couldn’t do what I did today last year. Yay me.

  • Today:
    Running: 5 miles
    58:45 (11:45/mile)
  • Year:
    Running: 438.8 miles
    Time: 3 days, 15h 34m 40s
    (Avg. Pace: 11:58/mile)

I don’t think I’ve made it a secret that I can’t stand paperboys. I was almost run over again, today. They could outlaw all home delivery of newspapers tomorrow and it wouldn’t bother me a bit.

I just clicked over to a news site and saw what happened in Minneapolis. I’m gonna stop my ranting, anything I have to say is nothing compared to crap going on everywhere else. Y’all take care today.
