The Underdog Ultimatum

Yes, we kinda saw both of these movies. If we were Borg, I guess we did.

See, Saturday was a long-awaited and much anticipated Date Nite. For us grownups, I say it was anticipated, for the kids – not so much.

So my wife and I went to a casual dining place and casually dined, without kids, and with adult beverages. And it was oh. so. quiet! Wow. I mean, summer has slipped mostly away (it’s all downhill until school starts in late August) and we haven’t done this hardly at all. So it was great.

Then, we went and picked up the boys, and one wanted to see Bourne and the other one Underdog, so we all went to the movies together but then each grown person took one small person to see their respective movies. And it was also fun, but maybe not what I had in mind when I envisioned date nite. But Bourne really is more fun to watch than Bond, for me. I like spy stuff, in general, and Vespa Fu is always great.

Then Sunday, on our Day of Rest, we steam cleaned carpets and picked up cat puke and then I fell asleep and my poor wife tried in vain to consumate Date Nite after the kids went to bed and I, um, wasn’t very responsive.

Ahem.

So at three AM, somehow, we’re both awake, and then wowzers, did we connect. (She may feel differently, but this is my blog, so neener neener).

Then this morning I’m going to work and realize that both of our cars had been broken into, and the thieves ran off with about three dollars in change (mostly nickels and pennies) from my car and a few CD’s from my wife’s car (hope they like Jimmy Buffett, and my kids are really pissed that you took Todd Snider, the only disk we have working with Beer Run on it. Damn you.)

And then I got my glasses fixed.

So, how are y’all?

Five is enough

I wanted to run eight miles today, but overslept, and besides, I don’t think I would have made it.
