Dog days

Summer is out in force now, 100 degree days as far as the eye can see, little to no chance of rain.

Also, my dog has been sick this week (stress-related, the vet thinks). She is eating a little now but still very lethargic, certainly not her usual self. Time should help, as she is already much better than she was on Friday (it’s Sunday as I write this).

And I guess I’m a dog, too, for that matter, for taking what wasn’t the strongest or best marriage in the world and making it so much worse (or non-existent?) I miss what we had, as imperfect as it might have been, at least we had each other.

Let’s see if I can find any more dog things to mention here. I think I’ll take a nap before it’s time to fetch my child from practice. 😛

Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?

This has been a very stressful few weeks for my family and I. I’m sure some of it has appeared between the lines here, and as usual I try not to give too many details as they really aren’t that important if you don’t know me (and you you can find plenty of details by asking or looking at my FB or twitter nonsense). What is important is this has been an unprecedented adventure for all of us.

I’ve spent a lot of time with my family over the last two weeks; and it has been very, very good. My smile muscles hurt. Sure, there has been some stress, some clashes of wills, some things that didn’t go perfectly, but all that will fall by the wayside and we will be left with some fantastic memories. Dammit.

Born to be wild.

Soon it will be time to go back to the usual day-to-day life. To work and school and life. We won’t forget this 😛

(bonus internet points if you know the song from which I borrowed the subject line)
