Counting down…

In twelve hours we’ll be on the highway for the beach and a few days “off.” I put that in quotes because making sure three small kids are happy and not drowning takes a bit of effort.

I’ve got a huge pile of work to be done before I leave the office today.

If I can just figure out why I’ve spent the last two hours hating myself and my life, everything would be just peachy.

Questions

People sometimes ask me this question:

“Do your children know they are adopted?”

Well, perhaps a conversation we had the other morning will help illustrate. Ages 6, 4, and 1:

*dad changes babies’ diaper and clothes*

6 y.o.: “I hope the judge says she can stay.”

dad: “Would you like her to always be your little sister?”

6 y.o.: “Yes! That would be great!” (big grin)

4 y.o.: *runs from room singing* “I’m still adopted! I’m still adopted!”
