So tonite I see the Touareg commercial, the one that played a bunch during the olympics. It has the Richard Buckner tune (Ariel Ramirez) playing, and has the guy and a lady friend driving through the hills and up a mountain to take a picture. Then they drive back down and hand the camera, with a sad look on their face, to a little old lady standing near a tour bus.

Dude – you have a freakin’ four door SUV. Give the nice lady a ride to the top of the mountain so she can see it for herself. Seriously. Otherwise, she probably coulda bought a ten cent postcard, and then she wouldn’t have been standing around waiting on your happy ass to get back.

Oh, and Richard Buckner kicks ass. Carry on.

If Monday is gonna suck, it might as well start early

It’s 1:30.

AM.

I can’t sleep because of a sinus headache – if I lay down it is 10X as bad. So here I sit.

Our little dog has decided it is time for her to get up – she’s been barking every 6.4 seconds for the last thirty minutes.

And the Cowboys have still never won in Lambeau Field.

On the plus side? I finally saw ‘Desperate Housewives’ It cracked me up that there was a Fisher Price commercial in the middle. Not bad!

update: I’m going to bed. 3:06.

Recipe Smackdown redux

Note: This looked so much better before I nuked my account over at Buzznet. If I can find the pictures and I remember, I’ll fix the post.

The beautiful and talented Amalah posted a recipe and how-to-make for peanut butter cups, so I thought I’d try my hand.

First, I assembled my ingredients:

milk chocolate chips, powdered sugar, peanut butter, paper cup things, beer, and of course Amalah’s recipe smackdown.

– Hungry? You won’t be if you click here ->

First I open a beer.

Then, I carefully melted the chocolate in the bowl in the microwave. 50% power, stirring, blah blah blah.

Putting the chocolate into the cup things (which I cut off so they weren’t as tall). I couldn’t find my muffin pan to hold them, so after pondering on WWAD (What would Amalah do) I decided that a Glad plastic pan was as good as anything. They’re just going to sit in the fridge.

While the chocolate cools in the fridge, I make the peanut butter. This is one cup of peanut butter with a half cup of powdered sugar stirred in. Note the joy of unexpected cheese.

After putting peanut butter in (singing “Braniac” the whole time), ready to go back to the fridge.

All set to put the top layer of chocolate on. Note the muffin pan has finished it’s walkabout but is too late to be useful in this batch. Slacker.

All finished! Time to finish beer and maybe surf blogs while they chill.
