Let’s just blame the cold medicine

Last night? I had no fever, but I was almost delirious.

Most of the night I had “The middle of the road” going through my head, stuck on random snippet repeat.

The middle of the road is no private cul-de-sac. I can’t get to the curb to the cab without some little jerk on my back.
Don’t harass me, can’t you tell, I’m going home I’m tired as hell.
I’m not the cat I used to be. I gotta kid I’m thirty-three, baby.
Get in the road. C’mon now, in the middle of the road, yeah!

Sometimes it was just the “hoooooo-oooo-ooo” parts.

Another song? “Burning down the house”

Watch out
You might get what you’re after
Cool babies
Strange but not a stranger
I’m an ordinary guy
Burning down the house

WTF?

Then I had this horrible dream where terrorists managed to sneak a nuke into Houston (since HS seems to have a hard time looking at container ships) and they blew up Houston, which would normally not faze me much except in my dream there was a prevailing southern wind and we live only 100 miles away so I’m driving all over town trying to get kids from school, day-care, etc and trying to hit the road to get away and they are all like “I want a happy meal!” and “Where’s my Gameboy?” since a road trip just doesn’t happen, it must be organized. Sheesh.

then I finally get back to sleep and what do I have playing in my head? Yeah, Back on the Chain Gang.

Ooh. Aah. Back on the chain gang.

Tis the season

Adoption from a slightly different point of view:

I once wrote about a child that was very dear to us, who lived here for almost two years. Well, it was almost three years ago that he left. While searching for another file on my work computer, I stumbled across a note I typed to my boss asking for some time off. Here ’tis (names changed):

We have reached ‘transition time’ for Boo’s leaving to go to his new home. I need to be with him a few times, so I’m writing it all down.

Today: I need to leave at 3:00 PM to take Boo to meet his case worker who will tell him about his new parents.
Tomorrow (Friday): I need to leave at noon to pick up Boo and take him to meet his new parents.
Monday: Boo will be going to visit his new family, someone will pick him up early (probably by 9:00) at our house. I need to wait with him at home.
Tuesday: Nothing (I hope). Boo will be coming home in the afternoon but my wife will be able to be there at the time.
Wednesday (Halloween): Boo is leaving home for good. I wish to take off this whole day since I don’t think I’ll be able to work effectively…

Spamination

So I guess spammers have like meetings or conference calls or at least a newsletter. Cuz this week it is “Want a Rolex?” week. I have had at least four offers for a ‘great rolex’ or a “fine Swss W@tch”.

Soon we’ll get back to the “granny’s getting gang-banged” theme from last week. Sheesh.

And just so this entry is a little more than a bitchfest, check out Lab Tested. It really is!
