Brown paper packages tied up with strings…

Okay, a meme from Autumn:

Rules:
Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal… and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

Okay, in no particular order:

  • Blog. I know, you’re shocked.
  • Surf. This is different from blogging, a little. Sometimes I mindlessly surf from web site to site, sometimes I dig for information on a certain topic, sometimes I join in chats or forums and talk for a bit with strangers.
  • Fark.
  • Read. Okay, it usually puts me to sleep, but I do like a good book. Or, sometimes, a bad book.
  • Watch movies. I watch several movies a week, I have over 200 in my netflix queue (and have already watched 60 or more through netflix in the past few months) plus I try and go to the theatre every so often. Often I’m content to do this alone. It’s more fun to go with someone, but not always possible. And some of the movies I rent are so weird nobody wants to see them anyway.
  • Cycle. I admit it has been a while, but riding off over the horizon on my bicycle is wonderful therapy. It’s healthy and it’s fun to go somewhere under your own power.
  • I won’t mention another solo hobby since it isn’t very likely to relax me, just make me want the real thing 🙂

Okay, that’s enough. Now I gotta pick five people to send it to? Hmmm.

Crazy right now

Okay, not just right now, but y’all knew that, right?

Anyway, I’m dreadfully busy right now, so I’ll leave you with a little earworm that I’ve had all. night. last. night.

East bound and down
Loaded up and truckin’
We gonna do what they say can’t be done
We got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
We’re east bound and watch old bandit run

Keep the foot hard on the pedal
So never mind them brakes
Let it all hang out cause we got a run to make
Boys are thirsty in Atlanta, they got beer in Texarkana
And we’ll bring it back no matter what it takes…

Hey baby, I’m your handyman

Just to congratulate myself a little…

For the first time in ten years, our bedroom door closes and latches.

Which means it also locks.

Which means I we can get busy without having to figure out to explain to the kids why daddy is under the covers and mommy sounds like she’s got a fever.
