And he shall be my squishy

I went for a run this morning, in the rain. It doesn’t rain enough around here (at least it hasn’t for a long time), and since this is only the second time in almost four months of running that it has rained, I didn’t mind a bit.

I tried out a new pair of socks that I bought from One More Mile, and they were flawless, despite my feet being dunked plenty of times in small rivers and streams that form on our streets.

[Have I ever mentioned that our entire subdivision has no storm drains? The water just pours down the street until it gets to the bottom, where hopefully there is a creek or something to take it in. Luckily, we have several creeks, but there are still pretty large bits of road that are mostly flat and, well, the water can pile up. Especially when it rains.]

I was putting my time into my running log and thought “Damn, that was slow,” when I felt like I was running much better than I have previously. And then it turns out that I entered my route on the map wrong, because I went around the entire park instead of just half, and after I corrected my distance, this turned out to be the fastest paced run I’ve had, and at an average heart rate of only 158.

I don’t mind the rain one bit…

  1. Yay you!!! Rain deters me. I need to get over it though cause like…well it’s seattle 🙂

I’m hoping to get back to running on Thursday…. had my stupid infusion today.

  2. I’ve had this stupid cold since Friday and I’ve missed two runs by now. I thought I would never say this, but I’m actually looking forward to running again.
