My five year old loves to take showers. Â Begs to take them, actually.
And I don’t mind much, because when he’s in the shower he isn’t raising a fuss with his sister or asking me thirty questions about whatever I’m doing at the moment. Â We both get a break, from each other.
So here’s my question:
He has been in there thirty minutes. Â Do I make him get out, or just wait for the hot water heater to run out?

You could do what my father did to my brother: after 30 minutes, my father would turn off the outflow from the hot water heater. Freeze him out, basically. My girls take cold showers, so it doesn’t work with them. DAMN!

First, make sure he’s actually taking a shower. We’re having…um…challenges with Big Girl about that very thing. She now lovs the shower. Getting washed up - not so much.
Ask him if his hands are getting all wrinkly. If they are, it’s time to go. Good luck with that.

You let the water heater run out, silly! They usually like to play with the shaving cream and get all pruney.

Unless it’s bed time, I let my daughter stay until she prunes or freezes. Like you said it’s kind of like a break.

Let him be till he is ready to come out (unless as Jenn said, bedtime is nearing).
Of course this comment is a bit late and I certainly hope he is out by now ;)
