This might be the last weekend to see Serenity at the theater. Because, well, most theaters don’t keep a movie around unless I loathe it. Not really, but it seems they only keep a movie at the theater anymore but about four weeks (tops) before it leaves to make room for newer fare.
This may not hold true if you are in a big area with, say, more than one movie theater. But we have to deal with what life gives us, and life only gave us one place within thirty miles to see a movie. This is the third weekend for the Big Damn Movie, and next weekend Saw II, Prime, and Zorro all come out. There just aren’t enough screens at our little theater to show everything.
Why am I saying all this? Because I’ve seen Serenity three times already, and given our budget and time constraints (there really are Really Useful Things I could be doing around the house, like cleaning and stuff), I can’t justify seeing it again this weekend. If it makes it another week I might be able to go ([whining]”But Hunneeeeey, I haven’t seen it in two weeks!”[/whining]) but I dunno. Hopefully we’ll see a DVD before too long.
She is startin’ to damage my calm…
If you haven’t seen it, check it out, I thought it rocked on the big screen (“the new Star Wars,” somebody said, but there ain’t no Ewoks in this, or Jar-Jar for that matter). If I do go see it, I’ll be sure and blab blog here about it…
