Trinity Railway Express on Galveston emergency mission: “…six cars and two locomotives from the Trinity Railway Express left Fort Worth about 2 p.m. today with a crew of four employees for the eight-hour trip to Houston.
About 900 evacuees are expected to board the train, which is capable of holding up to about 1,200 people.
‘We’re the only commuter train in this part of the country. We’ve been asked to respond, and we’re going to do it,’ said Dick Ruddell, president of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority. The agency, also known as the T, co-owns the rail line along with Dallas Area Rapid Transit.”

Rita should continue to slowly strengthen Tuesday night as it slowly moves into the Gulf of Mexico. Rita should become a major hurricane by Wednesday and could become a category 4 hurricane. It is not out of the question that Rita could even become a category 5 hurricane as it moves across the Gulf Wednesday night and Thursday.
