For some reason I did a google search to find out about how many people have written “god” as “g_d.”

Now, why do people do this? Are they afraid of showing up in a google search for “god”? Or do they think God him/her self doesn’t see what they are really trying to say?

This is a serious question, I know I have mis-spelled a word or two and definitely omitted names on my blog since I don’t want Google to drag people here. But this is such a common abbreviation, that is really synonymous with the actual word, that it seems pointless. So why do it?
