One of the previews last night was for The Pacifier, a disney movie about a Navy Seal who is supposed to be protecting a scientist (and apparently doesn’t, as the guy gets killed) and is now supposed to protect his five kids. Who of course all have disney-esque personality quirks (one wants to be a ninja, one is a surly teen, etc.)
It looks like fun, I bet it’s rated PG, and nobody has ever heard of it so it’ll probably suck. Seeing my taste in movies, though, I’d probably love it. It’ll be F A B! The part that I lauged hardest on the preview? When they’re in the minivan (“No, think of this as a Bradley armored vehicle” says Vin) and one of the kids is worried about being late for school. So he kicks it into Super Soldier high speed mode and does all kinds of tricks to get them there and after he screeches to a halt the child jumps out, kisses the ground and yells “Land!”
Or, maybe you had to see it. It was funny. Really.
