Imaginary post

Okay, if I have any new years resolutions, one is to spend less time on the computer on the weekends and more time with my family.

But, since we’ve basically been yelling at each other since we woke up, this seems as good a time as any to go to our respective corners and take a time out.

My wife has the Learning Channel.

The baby is napping.

The boys are (for once) not fighting and watching Star Wars in their room.

So here I am.

Anyway, you were wondering about the title for this post. Yeah, that. Er, here’s what it be: My wife has busted her ass for the last week, dodging vomit and poop and feverish kids, and managed to get ready to paint the family room. Last night we actually painted (and I did help with the ceiling and primer, so I did help, but she painted the actual color on the walls)

But I don’t have the energy to find pictures and post them so that’s where you come in. First, here is before:

(imagine a large rectangular room with french doors at one end leading to a messy yard, tile floor, dark brown paneling on the walls, white ceiling)

And here is after:

(imagine the same room, same floor (with a few speckles on it), same doors, but now blue walls and a different shade of blue on the ceiling; the ceiling color extends into the kitchen in the background)

There, wasn’t that easy! Now you can see how much work she put into it. There was sanding, scraping, de-glossing, TSP-ing, washing. Isn’t the transformation amazing!? We’ve lived here ten years or so and this has been on the list for many of those years. And on ‘Trading Spaces’ where they show them open the can of paint and a couple commercial breaks later they are finished? Life isn’t like that.
