Feeling a little better

I’ve been cheered by friendly e-mail and from talking to the nice person at a local day care – they have a class with 10 kids in it (for or five the same age as my son, the rest a year younger) that is basically doing prep work to get ready for the school year. When the little kids take naps the bigger kids are free to do art stuff or play. That would be a much better supervisor/kid ratio than we have now and might help out.

Here’s the thing: my kid is smart, and very sharp. He is also very easily riled up (did I spell that right?) Once you know how to push his buttons you can bring up the Fists of Fury in a heartbeat.

We talk all the time:

Me: “If somebody insults you, what do you do?”

Him: “Walk away, ignore him, and tell a counselor”

An hour later somebody insults him and promptly gets punched.

*Sigh*

Is this how James Dean got started?
