Fire on the mountain, run!

Okay, riddle me this:

It’s just a song. A song about how the devil and some guy sitting out in the woods make a bet for control of the guy’s soul. Based on, naturally, who plays the fiddle the best. With me so far? Devil. Kid. Fiddles. “Hell broke loose in Georgia.”

So, why the fuck to they change “son of a bitch” to “son of a gun” to play it on the radio?

That’s all I have. So far it has been an absolutely craptastic morning. And, rather than bring the entire internets down with my foul mood (I could do that, you know, if I really wanted to. Gosh!) I’ll just leave you with a pretty picture of two elephants about to get it on. Harumph.

Notes on VD

(that’s Valentine’s Day, not Veteran’s Day, not that I have anything against Veteran’s Day, but it’s just not what this post is about)

Things nobody wants to hear:

“Happy Valentines Day! I got my period”

Thing I do to try and help:
Make pecan pralines with her favorite recipe, since the chocolate I bought for VD will only make her cramps worse 🙁

Bonus points:
Went to the grocery store (and took the baby!) to get whipped cream for the pralines

Dumbass moment:
Looking for caramels at the store. When I was already planning to make them from scratch. Duh.

Bigger dumbass moment:
Cooking the stuff too long. Now I have some lovely rocks.

Bonus:
Trying again tomorrow night after basketball. Maybe. She’ll be at a meeting without me and the kids.

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
