River runs through it

My son insisted we watch Serenity last night, as it had been a while.  I think I’ve made it clear, but dayum I love that movie!

Teacher: It’s true that there are dangers on the outer planets.

So with so many social and medical advancements… we can bring to the Independents.. why would they fight so hard against us?

River: We meddle.

Teacher: River?

River: People don’t like to be meddled with.

We tell them what to do, what to think. Don’t run, don’t walk. We’re in their homes and in their heads and we haven’t the right.

We’re meddlesome.

Teacher: River, we’re not telling people what to think…

we’re just trying to show them how.

I am such the tease sometimes

Ok, this little thing looks like it’ll rock. As a guy who is constantly being bugged for “new pictures” of the kids (like the four year old pictures of kids I don’t even have anymore aren’t enough, harumph), this looks like just the ticket:Digital Photo Display

Why am I a tease? Because I don’t know who is making it, when it will be available, or how much it will cost, or what kind of batteries it takes.

I do know this:

The Digital Photo Display’s high-resolution LCD screen stores up to 100 photos that can be viewed individually, as thumbnails or in a vibrant slideshow complemented by the frame’s sleek design.

More news when I get it…

Update:

7” Digital Photo Display ($199)
Philips Electronics has artfully provided the answer to the question posed by the dominance of digital cameras. How can consumers free digital memories from their computer, where precious moments are stored but rarely seen, and share them with family and friends? Philips’ Digital Photo Displays are a piece of art themselves, with sophisticated designs to accommodate any décor. The Digital Photo Display’s captivating high-resolution LCD screen stores up to 100 photos (depending on file size) that can be viewed individually, as thumbnails or in a vibrant slideshow complemented by the frame’s sleek design. When choosing the slideshow mode, consumers can effectively combine 100 photos into one exciting presentation. Available in September it will have a suggested retail price of $199

Advice needed

I’m new to this, and somehow I missed out on most of the Walkman Revolution of that bygone error when we had albums and made tapes.

(I’ll wait while half of you go ask your parents what all those things were.  You’re back?  Good.  Moving on)

I have an MP3 player (in case anybody cares, it’s an Iriver T10 that I got on refurbished closeout someplace).  It’s way cool.  It holds a ton of music – so now I don’t need to carry around a box of CD’s.  Yes, I know what CD’s are, I’m not THAT old.

In fact, I’m listening to it right now.  Chicago Transit Authority, from before they had to change their name to the more politically correct “Styx,” but I digress.  I’m listening to it, and I have one question for those of you savvy personal audio users:

How the hell do you not sing along and make an ass out of yourself?
