Blog a Bear Workshop

As one of about a half dozen bloggers not going to Blogher, I’m currently lacking for anything to write about.

Let’s see: my five year old learned to ride his bike without training wheels. He could have done this last summer, it was a confidence issue, but I’m glad and sad at the same time. Now, of course, he wants another new bike, since the last one we bought came with training wheels and is therefore insufficient.

My eight year old actually left the couch to go ride bikes with his brother. Twice. This is such a breakthrough on so many fronts that I can’t describe it accurately. Anything shy of a shooting war is progress, I say.

My baby (who, at 39 pounds / 38 inches / three years old probably shouldn’t be called a baby but it was good enough for Jennifer Grey so dammit it’s good enough for us) had a checkup today and passed with flying colors. Except the doctor would prefer she be a little more light on her feet. My daughter put her in a head lock, punched her through the door, and screamed Nachooooooooooooooooo. She’s such the girly girl.

The weather is – hot. Texas in the summer, whaddya do? You just hang on until the first cool front in November, if you can.

So, lacking anything at all of import to write about, I’ll open up to you, my dear reader. Readers, sorry. I know there’s more than one on some days. Anything you wanna know? Any burning questions that you haven’t felt like asking, or that I’ve dodged or simply forgotten to answer previously? Lemme know.

Makes my heart skip a beat

And not in a good way.

My boys are outside riding bicycles with friends. I just heard my five year old shout:

Hey y’all, watch this!

BTW, that’s my youngest in the header picture. Riding without training wheels. For the first time.
