feverish

This is really cool. They’ve analyzed swing music to try and figure out why it makes you want to move your feet.

It’s the backbeat, you can’t lose it.

Check these out:

Fever in the morning

Fever when you hold me tight

That’s Ray Charles. Snapping his fingers. On the beat, with a variance of less than five milliseconds.

That’s about one beat of a bees wings. Give or take a little.

Here’s the full article.

(see, I do pay attention to things other than Emma Watson and Boobs).

Bye, Kurt.

I wasn’t going to write anything, but after seeing it all over the web, I didn’t want to seem cold and inconsiderate, even though I probably am.

Kurt Vonnegut has passed away. He was only 84. One of the greatest American writers, I think. I read Catch-22 when I was in middle school and it warped me in ways that I’m only beginning to catch on about. Which, of course, was written by Joseph Heller 8) see what grief does to a person? (thanks, Udge!)

I posted an excellent piece by him almost three years ago, which is of course still true today. Also, from Boing, Boing, here is a link to an appearance he made on the Daily Show.

I’m extremely sad. =(

Lights, tunnels, stuff like that

I’m working on a place for the kids while we travel, it’s actually almost a done deal but you know how that goes 😉

(it’s my parents, and I’m waiting on their Proof of Insanity paperwork before I can let the kids go there)

Of course, I’m also checking my timetables to see when the next train might be coming, that could be it at the end of the tunnel…
