I love this quote from the USDA:
“I think the American meat supply is the safest in the world,” Raymond said in an interview on CBS’s “The Early Show.” “A recall like this does show that we are on the job, we are doing our inspections, our investigation, and we respond when we find problems to make sure that supply is safe.”
See, and here I thought that if you did inspections, you wouldn’t let 22 million pounds of tainted beef out on the open market.
(I’ve worked in a meat plant, unless they have suddenly gotten a huge, Iraq-war sized infusion of budget, the only thing consistent about the USDA is they are over-worked and under-staffed)
I feel like crap and great all at the same time. Go figure.
I was going to write a post about September going “out like a lamb,” but screw it, I forgot, and now it’s not September anymore so it’s kinda pointless. Last night I watched “The Fountain,” and I’m still trying to figure out what I saw. If you know, leave a comment, m’kay?
Some days I don’t like me very much.
On the radio now:
I know youve got a lot of good things happening up ahead.
The past is gone its all been said.
So heres to what the future brings,
I know tomorrow youll find better things.

Gotta love me some Kinks.
