Lowered Expectations

When we tried to go see Batman vs Heath Ledger, the first night every showing was sold out by the time we made it to the theater.

This made my son very sad and more than a little frustrated.

With Da Mummy coming out tomorrow, and him being a huge Jet Li fan, he’s not taking any chances. Every day this week he’s asking “can we buy tickets yet?” or “Can we get tickets online?”

I don’t want to burst his bubble by telling him the reviews for Ledger Mania and George of the Tomb, um, aren’t even in the same league.

That’s OK, we’ll have a blast anyway.

(as an aside, my daughter thought if funny that there might be mummies at the pool. Daddies, too.)

Are 5th Graders still babes?

Usually I get stuff like this from the younger kids, but this was too good not to share:

My son and I were at Wally World, and he picked out a new watch that cost a whopping $11.79. He is quite proud of it.

Driving home he was admiring it and said “It has a diamond! It’s real! But it’s not very big. It’s about the same size as the one Mom has on her ring.”
