Down under

We are finally watching “Australia,” and enjoying it a bunch. Okay, maybe not the most perfect movie ever (what is?) but a fine piece of movie making.

Then – the boys come into the room. “Is it over? It’s been on for an hour already!” (said looking at the counter on the DVD player).

“No honey, it’s not over.”

They watched for about ten minutes, then started asking when the shooting would start.

“Huh?”

“When’s the war stuff?”

“I guess later, they’re still moving cattle.”

{later}

Toward the end – tear jerking scene (won’t say what, but hey, emotional) and my kids are all “Now his head explodes,” and “Where are the zombies?”

Sensitive, they are not.

Movie day

Today’s weather was just like yesterday (and not the MUCH WARMER as promised on accuweather or wherever. Face it, the weather models don’t work anymore, thank you global climate change, when they have about a 10% success rate of predicting weather 18 hours ahead of time).

So? Cold, and wet.

So we cleaned house some, we played some video games, we read books. We watched Open Season II (again), Enchanted (AGAIN), and visited redbox.

Um, guess what. “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” is a tear jerker. Huge. Not much about PJs at all, actually. Wow.

Continuing our intensity theme, we watched Pacific Heights. Okay, I didn’t bawl like a baby during this one, but still makes you think.

I’m toast. Heading to bed to hopefully make tomorrow mo betta. My wife should be home by tomorrow night… 😛
