quiet Sunday

It is a quiet day here; laundry and sleeping in and swimming with my daughter. Not necessarily in that order.

Now I’m trying to beat the heat by not going out in it 😉 It seems like an easy solution to 100+ degree temps.

I saw this today:

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered…

“Man.

Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;

the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

How I wish that it would rain

The buzz around here is whether or not the tropical storm will bring us rain. Any rain. At all. Officially a 40% chance today, but my Magic 8 Ball says “not likely.” I guess we’ll see. The forecast is also for today to be “cooler” than yesterday, with the high of only 97 or so. Good times.

Anyway, here is what I will probably be going to see tonight with my boys. With a movie like this, with Craig and Ford and Wilde in it, I really don’t give a damn if it gets good reviews or not. I am so there.

I had to tell my kids this was a play on Cowboys and Indians. They had no idea what I was talking about.
