Expedia not run by parents

I just ran across this (automated) listing when looking at hotels at Expedia:

Standard room with king bed, sleeps 1 children

That could not have been written by parents. Our king size bed easily sleeps two adults, two kids, two cats, and two dogs.

Okay, maybe I’m stretching the definition of “easily” a little bit, but it’s doable.

Survey time!!!

Okay, we have been given Friday off to remember President Reagan. My wife, however, must work and the kids are going to day care. I’ll have 8:00 to 5:00 to myself.

What should I do?

Answer in the comments or send me an e-mail… (please?)

Un-real

Will it ever end? Talk about screwing with my childhood icons. If they try and remake the Bugaloos I swear somebody is going to get hurt.

Hollywood is looking for a new Mary Ann to strand on “Gilligan’s Island.”

And because the character on the original 1960s sitcom was supposed to be a wholesome Kansas farm gal, casting agents are hoping to find the real thing in Wichita this weekend.

But if you’re a real skipper, a real professor or a real millionaire — not to mention a movie star or first mate — they want to talk to you, too.

“We’re looking for real people in those real jobs,” said Sally Ann Salsano, one of four producers of the “The Real Gilligan’s Island,” a reality show set to air on TBS this fall.

“We want a real professor and a person who thinks of herself as a movie star. We want a cast that can get along. It’s going to be lots of fun,” she said.

“But we want people to think outside the box. The professor can be a woman, as long as she’s a real professor. It can be a female millionaire and her husband or fiance — just as long as they’re a real couple.”

And Mary Ann?

“Well, we want our Mary Ann to be a real Kansas girl. We don’t want her to be in drag,” Salsano said with a chuckle.

Reed it and weep..

If you’re like me you’re pulling for a gay millionaire and his husband, just to shake things up. That might make it worth watching.
