Possible GMAIL / Opera fix

Update:

Gmail and Opera have been working together for quite some time.  This is a non-issue (if you are using a recent version of Opera) it seems.

This looks really cool, but I’m not about to tamper with the machine at work. So here it is (if anybody tries this, not that I have any Opera using readers out there, please let me know your thoughts)

I’ll update this when I get a chance to try the steps at home. I probably won’t do it tonite unless I get insomnia (I’m teaching till at least 10:00, so after ‘working’ for fifteen hours I don’t know if I’ll be up to futzing with gmail)

World view from a six year old

My oldest said the other day:

“If they were gonna make a movie of The World, it would have to be rated ‘R’. Cuz it would have sharks and some people might get eaten and killed and stuff.”

He continued:

“It would be pretty long and boring, too.”

Blogger has issues.

Okay, yeah it’s my fault for using the free Blogger place and all that, but here’s the deal:

They are tweaking their “post creator” to use some kind of dynamic HTML thing. Like big fonts, little fonts, fonts that climb on rocks, that kind of thing.

Well, this new interface doesn’t “do” Opera, and I’m okay with that, I still have MSIE here since it’s required at work so if I really wanted their font styling crap I could have it. I don’t so I don’t lose any sleep. They did remove spellcheck and preview but whatever.

Well, today they somehow tweaked the code to give me back Spellcheck and Preview, but now if I post something and go back to edit it – nothing is there. It’s still on my blog, hasn’t been deleted, but if I try and pull an old post up to edit there is a blank screen.

Which is a really long way of saying why I can’t post this picture:

in the King Tut post below this one.

Carry on.
