You know, for $6,000 you’d think they’d let me bring my dog. I mean, seriously. She’s better behaved than my kids. Click the pic if you want to get a real deal. (and what’s in Glen Arbor? Anyone?)

Pop quiz!

We’re at the store and the cashier decides to have a little fun with the boys. She would hold up things and ask them to name them. This was last weekend:

Cashier: “Okay, how about this?”

Boy 1: “An orange.”

Boy 2: “Watermelon!”

Boy 1: “Bread!”

Cashier: “Close, it’s a cantaloupe.” (holds up something else) “Now, what’s this?”

Boy 1 and 2, simultaneously and loud: “WINE!

Why I love her…

I know many of you may not realize that it’s I Love Yvonne Week. Of course, I didn’t know this until the other day when I read a post at Buzz’s place, then I see this and this and I’m thinking – of course it’s I Love Yvonne Week! In fact, if I’m elected President (something that would be very, very risky indeed) I would make it I Love Yvonne Month! She’s just that dang great.

Why is she great? She’s honest, she’s beautiful, she’s open. She doesn’t pull her punches. She’s damn funny. And? She had her kid sing about another blogger. Heh.

Now that I’ve said all these gushy things, well you might want to drop by and meet Yvonne. Tell her that Ben says hello, and he still loves the song.

But hang on, there’s more to why I love Yvonne…

– Open dis here up >>

Since it’s confession week and all in Blogland, I’ve got another one. When I was in sixth grade, I had a major crush on a girl named Yvonne. Yes indeed, I did. She was the girlfriend of a friend of mine, a guy I played soccer with. She was sweet, witty, smart (all A’s), and she had the biggest boobs in the entire sixth grade, and boy did I covet them. I even wrote a story for them, (the couple, not the boobs) where they were characters acting out a damsel in distress kind of thing, and in the story I think there might have been some “adult situations,” and stupid me I gave it to her and she read it and said it was really sweet and, well, pretty much avoided me after that.So when I started blogging and saw that someone named Yvonne had a blog? My heart skipped a beat, and I thought “Could this be her?” I fell in love all over again, but in a different way this time, and I’m not writing short stories about her and her boyfriend. But I’ve never told her about the girl I knew in sixth grade.

And damn, I hope it’s not her, cuz if it is then she now knows I’m that creepy kid that had a crush on her in sixth grade.
