Zillagod…

I’m such a geek, I would love to be there for this.

The film Gojira – the Japanese movie that started Godzilla’s career in November 1954 – will be shown during the conference.

Organisers want to provoke discussion of globalisation, Japanese popular culture and Japanese-American relations after World War II.

Bill Tsutsui, a history professor at the University of Kansas and author of the book Godzilla on My Mind, said he would like people to take Godzilla “more seriously”.

Historians, anthropologists and other academics from prestigious universities such as Duke, Harvard and Vanderbilt are expected to attend.

I’m not that serious, though, I just love the way he smashes shit.

Taking a cue from Prisoner Martha

Britney spears posts a letter on her website to her fans, all five of them.

I know now that my knee gave out on me this past summer so that I would have no choice but to stop. My body was shutting down and needed rest. It’s funny how the Man upstairs works. Right now, I have to go– I really want to watch “Saved” with Mandy Moore and re-runs of “Sex and the City.” I want to enjoy all of the simple things that I missed over the past few years due to working way too much.

Being married is GREAT and I can’t wait to start my family! There is so much change going on right now… not only with me, but in the world, as well. So, the next time you see my face, hear one of my songs or even if I’m the topic of your next conversation, please remember that times are changing & so am I.

Somewhere between watching paint dry and golf

I watched the ball game last night. Which game? The longest playoff game ever. I didn’t even start watching until the ninth inning. And it went on. And my son did his homework. And it was still on. And I gave three (3!) baths to 3 slimy kids. It was still on! I sent everyone to bed. And, yes, it’s still on. They had already sent the blimp back for lack of fuel. The kids in the bleachers were fighting to stay awake. Hell, some of the ball players were fighting to stay awake. My dog was asleep on my foot. Then finally? Something happened. What I’m not sure, as I had nodded off, but there was much rejoicing as a team finally won. And it was over.

So the network switched to the other game (playing 100 miles from my house, of course), now in the ninth inning, and the home team had the decency to hit a homer so we could all go to bed.

After all that I totally forgot to watch Madden Night Football. Oh well.
