a Thanksgiving Dinner that couldn’t be beat

Yes, we just had our Extreme Turkey Day: Home Edition.

We like certain things on Thanksgiving, for example the potatos a certain way, the gravy, stuffing, etc. And over the last twenty years or so, we’ve kinda figured out that our family, although they mean well, will never make quite what we want. What they make is excellent, mind you, but it isn’t quite what we’re after.

So, we do our own. Usually the week before. And as you might have guessed, as a household with three small children, there is plenty to go around, and plenty of leftovers.

Damn, I am full right now. Good thing I don’t have to get up in the morning and go shopping.

Anyway, pics to follow…

Relativity?

I’m not a rocket scientist, but my new theory is that the weekend is full of “stuff” so you get to Desperate Housewives faster.

Hey, I never said it was a good theory.

Yes, in my bio I said “I like bad movies.” What I thought about putting was suggested by my wife, which is “You can quote lines from all kinds of bad movies.” She’s thinking of the kind of movies TBS runs on Saturday afternoon, about tarantulas that eat cities or aliens that win elections or whatever. Also Airplane. Dawn of the Dead. Star Wars. Monty Python. Etc.

I was afraid if I said, in my bio, that I could actually “quote” movies, then I’d be constantly bugged by people to actually do that. And then I’d get performance anxiety and constantly need to reach for my, er, reinforcement. Not good.

So I said what I did, (we were only allowed one sentence) and this bio just happens to be at work. We just moved offices and are in a combined space with another department, this is the ice-breaker. And yes somebody came by and said the whole office was wondering if I liked porn flicks.

I do, of course, but that isn’t something I’d put in my office bio. I’m more of a nerd than a pervert. Maybe I’m a nervert.
