Random kidness

My son was on a roll tonite:

Get in the car at 6:30 after crushing Aggie loss:

“I’m hungry.”

“We just ate our second Thanksgiving dinner in as many days. Why didn’t you eat?”

“I wasn’t hungry then, but I am now.”

“How about some Clifford animal crackers?”

“No, I don’t want junk food. I want McDonalds!

Truck stop, 22 miles out of Waco, TX, in the men’s room:

“What’s a Texas Love Kit?”

“Um, that’s like a card you get for somebody you really love.”

“Ok. What’s a ‘Cowboy Up?'”

“That’s medicine that helps wake you up. Like coffee. Cowboys like it.”

“OK. What’s ‘Lubricated…'”

“Time to go!”

Some things were easier before he learned to read.

Home, home again

We made it. Got in about half an hour ago. Four bodies sleeping in the car, thankfully my wife woke up long enough to carry a child inside and I managed the other two. When I opened the car door my first thought was “hot.” It’s 70 degrees and 90% humidity here. Feels like a summer night at the beach, only warmer.

Feed the cats? check.

Feed the dogs? yup.

Eggnog with the last shot of Appleton’s rum in it? got it. (slurp).

Blog checking goodness? Only because I had so much coffee this afternoon / evening I’ll likely be up until Sunday.
