Found on the internet, so it must be accurate:

After I heard him play in concert, Ray Charles asked me whether or not I’d like to come back to his room. Of course, I would! He went on in ahead of me, and the place was pitch black. I followed the sound of his voice, until he entered his bathroom. Then my eyes adjusted to the dark just enough for me to realize he was shaving!

Do you know how it is when you don’t really mean to say something out loud, but the words just come out anyway? Well, that’s what happened. I said, “Ray, why are you shaving in the dark?”

He said, “Turn on the light.” I did.

Then he asked, “Feel better now?” —Bill Cosby

Variety is the spice of life

A pompous minister was seated next to a Texan on a flight to Dallas.

After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken. The Texan asked for a whiskey and soda, which was brought and placed before him. The flight attendant then asked the minister if he would like a drink. He replied in disgust, “I’d rather be savagely raped by ten whores than let liquor touch my lips.”

The Texan looked at the minister, then handed his drink back to the attendant and said, “I didn’t know we had a choice.”

Box office blow for Alexander

Hmm. My dad announced on Thanksgiving “I heard on the radio it was a three hour gay fest.” He obviously disapproved. And, I’m sure, many people that listen to talk radio believed the opinion, disapproved, and voted with their wallets. Amazing what rumor and innuendo can do (my dad never said whether the commentator had actually seen the three hour gayfest or if he just thought that’s what it was, he didn’t seem to care enough about it to be critical of the review or reviewer. It might have been Dr. Laura or Rush, I dunno.)

And here is an article talking about the sexual tones of the flick. Probly has some spoilers, too.

I didn’t see any movies, so maybe I’m part of the problem? But the epic things (other than Lord of the Rings) aren’t really made for me, I tend to rent them if I see them at all. For example, I have not seen “Gladiator”, “Pearl Harbor”, finally saw Saving Private Ryan by rental, etc. These days me and the munchkins are more into Pixar or Shrek or the Thunderbirds.
