Yeah, I waited. They said “February 2.”

They said “After 6:00 PM”

That’s when I was supposed to get with the 90’s and have my DSL activated.

Guess what? Really, guess?

I get the exact same response I did on Saturday, when I tried to follow their e-mailed instructions. In other words, nothing.

So tonight, after spending even more quality time on the phone with tech support, they decided they would send me a new modem “since everything looks okay from here.”

Gee, thanks. And they even tried to tell me the “good news”, that it was under warranty so there would be no charge!

I certainly hope it’s under warranty, since I just opened the box, and the service just came on February 2. At 6:00 PM.

Grrrr.

Followup: we do have a cable modem, at home, so I understand some of the joys of broadband. But what I want is the wireless broadband, and the ability to use more than one computer at a time (the new service has a 4 port router/modem) so I don’t have to wait for my wife to finish a powerpoint to blog and vice versa…

Nowhere is safe

So, not only do you I get the fun of explaining things like erectile dysfunction to the kids just because they happen to watch a sports broadcast, I just saw an ad for new KY warming gel.

During the Cosby show. At 12:30 in the afternoon. “Perfect for valentines day…”

Uh, yeah, right.

You can guess what kind of day it is

When about all I have to post is a Calvin cartoon.

The baby is doing better – I want to say thanks to everyone who expressed concern. I’m home with her today “just in case” since basically all she did yesterday was poop (and not in a pretty way, but I told myself I would not divulge TMI about this so that’s all I’ll say)

Random nonsense:

Our new DSL should be on tonite, after we get the kids in bed I may try it. We’re about two miles from the CO so I’m hoping for pretty high speeds, but with our town you never know (phone lines are older than I am, probably).

I’m eating too much ice cream (Leon is getting laaarger, if you know what I mean) but the good news is I’ve virtually stopped drinking alcohol. So that’s why you haven’t seen any drunken posts in a while. Of course, now what’s my excuse for my crappy writing? Dunno. I’ll blame it on the flu bugs in our house.

It’s been over a week and I still loave our new washing machine. This puppy cleans quickly, and spins so much water out that the dryer is working about 50% faster (what used to take 90 minutes now takes less than an hour). Of course there are a zillion variables to that but I really don’t dread washing blankets anymore.

And tell me, what is it with you women and zippers? The baby is in a sweatshirt that zips up (easy access in case of, you know, hurlage) and she will not leave it zipped up. She goes all J-Lo and has it about halfway down, then Goes Wild and it is all the way open, at which point she comes over and insists that I zip it back up for her (she can’t do that at all) and the process starts all over. Hmmph.
