So hot

No, not hot like some people, but hot like in fahrenheit.

Here’s our cheerful weather summary I received by e-mail this morning. (I did not add any punctuation):

Who needs a Finnish sauna when all you have to do is step outside in this Texas heat? Saturday we tied the record high by hitting 96 degrees. Sunday’s former record high of 95 (1937) came crashing down with a new high of 96 (2005). If that’s not hot enough for you, when you factor in the humidity, the heat index values hit at or above 100!!! When outside these next few days, make sure to stay well hydrated, spend some time in the shade, and take frequent breaks from intense physical activity.

Good news…by the end of this week, we will cool off…..but by only a few degrees. Even better news…the atmosphere might be able to squeeze out a few raindrops as well! Right now, the rain chances are low, but there’s always hope!

The Sith Sense

“I see dead people.”

Make no doubt about it, this one is the most intense Star Wars there is. But probably only because in the original Star Wars (which is now Episode IV) when they blew up a planet and “millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced” they didn’t actually show it.

Let’s see, without giving too much away, the movie had:

No breasts (bare ones at least)
One pregnant senator
A zillion droids, most of which meet an untimely demise
Cool space battles
cool land battles
just keep swimming (but no Nemo)
Light Sabers “backward R” Us
Brilliant Oscar-worthy dialog and acting
Shiny things
A giant lava lamp
Wookies
Politicians
Mechanics
Huge sets
(just kidding about that Oscar thing)
Yoda fu
Clone fu
Jedi fu (a bit redundant, but not quite the same as Yoda fu)
Things get blowed up. A lot.

If I think of more I’ll add to the list…
